Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, what information StreamRod collects when you use our website and studio (the “Service”), why we collect it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Hosts create an account with an email and password to make studios; guests need no account and only enter a display name.
- No advertising trackers, and we never sell your personal information.
- Live audio and video travel through our real-time provider so participants can see and hear each other; we only store recordings that a producer chooses to save.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: if you create studios, your email address and your password, which we store only as a secure one-way hash, never in readable form.
- Studio details: the show title you enter, a unique studio ID, and which account created the studio.
- Display names: the name you type when joining a studio, which other participants see.
- Live audio, video and screen shares: transmitted in real time to the other participants in your studio.
- Recordings: when a producer records, the program recording is uploaded to our server and kept in that studio’s recording library. Recordings may include the voices, video, names and content of everyone in the studio, plus graphics and music the producer added.
- Contact form messages: your name, email address, topic and message, when you choose to contact us.
- Technical and security data: your IP address and basic request information, used to run the Service, prevent abuse and apply rate limits, and recorded in standard server logs.
- Visit records: when you open a page, we record the page address, the time, your IP address, the country it belongs to, the site that linked you, your browser type and, if you are logged in, your account. We use this to understand how the Service is used and to block abuse. The country is looked up on our own server from a downloaded database, so your IP address is not sent to anyone else for this.
2. Information stored only in your browser
StreamRod uses your browser’s local storage, not cookies, for conveniences such as staying logged in to your account, your producer access for a studio, and saved scene templates (including small logo images). This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. Images, videos, music and backgrounds you add to a scene stay in your browser unless they appear in a recording.
3. How we use information
- To run your account and let you log in;
- to create studios, connect participants and deliver live audio and video;
- to store and provide recordings to the studio’s producer;
- to reply to your messages, including feedback and investment inquiries;
- to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
4. Service providers we rely on
- LiveKit — routes real-time audio, video and screen shares between participants.
- Railway — hosts our website, servers, database and stored recordings.
- DB-IP — provides the free IP-to-country database (CC BY 4.0) we download and use on our own server; no visitor data is sent to DB-IP.
- Google Fonts — delivers the fonts used on the site; your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Email provider — if we email you back, your message passes through our email service.
- Your browser’s speech recognition — if a producer turns on live captions, the browser’s speech service (for example, Google in Chrome) may process the producer’s microphone audio to produce the text.
These providers process information on our behalf or as part of the technology you use, and only as needed to provide their services. We share information beyond this only if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.
5. How long we keep information
- Account details are kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete your account at any time.
- Studio details and recordings are kept until they are deleted. You can ask us to delete a studio’s recordings at any time.
- Contact messages are kept as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted on request.
- Visit records are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Rate-limit records are short-lived and overwritten as time windows reset.
6. Security
The Service uses encrypted HTTPS connections, passwords and producer access keys are stored only as secure hashes, and account and studio sessions use signed, short-lived tokens. No system is perfectly secure, so please share studio and producer links only with people you trust.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, including your account, recordings and contact messages. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Send requests through our contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Children
StreamRod is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. International use
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed in those countries.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as StreamRod grows and change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
